Precision Optical Component
A Light Guide Plate (LGP) is a transparent acrylic or polycarbonate sheet with a microscopic dot pattern etched onto its surface. It takes light from edge-mounted LED strips and redirects it evenly across the entire display — making it a critical part of every LCD backlight unit (BLU).
When an LGP yellows, cracks, or deforms due to heat aging, the screen develops dark spots, uneven brightness, or complete backlight failure. Replacing the LGP is often more cost-effective than replacing the entire LCD panel.
Common applications: LCD TVs, laptop screens, desktop monitors, tablets, smartphones, automotive displays, advertising light boxes, LED panel lights.
